Until very recently, I always made my own mac and cheese for Lilah, with the cream sauce, and whole wheat pasta. It was only recently, after I got (pregnant and) lazy, that Lilah even tasted boxed Mac and Cheese (I bough the Amy's Organics kind). And it was only then that she wanted Mac and Cheese daily. What do they put in that stuff? I'm considering making up a big batch of Mac and Cheese, freezing it in little containers, to be microwaved whenever she wants Mac and Cheese. That way I don't fee so gulity about giving it to her.
Today she asked for Mac and Cheese for breakfast. I had some in the fridge, so she got it.
I'm trying not to impose my "food rules" on her; i.e., only "breakfast" food should be consumed at breakfast. DH actually rarely eats breakfast food, unless it's the weekend and I cook something special; he usually eats whatever is leftover from dinner, be it rice and beans, curry, etc. My stomach turns at the thought, but really, I'd rather promote eating a breakfast of any variety than limiting it to only "breakfast foods".
