Thanks for starting this thread, Natasha - I was just about to post a question asking how bfs should fit into a solids routine with 6-9 month olds and I'm glad to see I'm on the right track!
Brenden is 1.5 weeks away from 6 months. He's a big boy, almost 20lbs and has been on cereal since 4.5 months but we upped it VERY slowly based on his demand for it. Started at only a tbsp at 5:30pm (tried mornings first but he wasn't hungry for his 11am feed) and after about 4 weeks added 1 tbsp in the AM and just this past week 1 tbsp at noon.
Here is his current routine:
7am Wake and bf
8am Solids 1 tbsp homemade pear and 1 tbsp barley cereal, bit of water from sippy cup
9am-1030am (approx) nap
11am bf
12pm 1 tbsp barley cereal, bit of water from sippy cup
1pm -2:30pm (again, approx.) nap
3pm bf
5:00-5:30 catnap (been fighting the ALOT the past week or two, may start to drop it and head to bed an hour earlier...especially since he also started fighting bedtime around the same time this started!)
5:30 solids 3tbsp oatmeal, bit of water from sippy cup
6:30 bath
7:00 bf
7:30 sleep
10:30 df (4oz ebm and 4 oz formula, takes at least 6 oz, often the whole 8 oz)
** Is "sleeping through" without demanding a feed but often still wakes somewhere between 3-5am for an hour play. Has demanded a feed at 6am yesterday AM and 5:30am this morning but I think he's hit his 6 month growth spurt as he has hit all of them a week or two early.....isn't taking an extra feed during the day but has been taking twice as much at these early morning feeds than he usually does at 7am so I guess he's getting the extra calories that way, also taking a longer feed at 7pm and draining the df bottle. I figure, sleeping until 5-6am during this and then going back down for an hour after is good enough!
