My LO has recently started solids, just one meal a day to start of pureed carrots etc.  At first it went well (for about a week or so), but she now has lost interest in her own food and reaches out for our food which is not suitable for her yet (lumps, meat, dairy etc).  Put a spoonful of mush to her mouth and she cries and pulls back, offer her a spoonful of what we're eating and she goes mad for it, arms outstretched, mouth open to get it if she can.  Any advice?  How can we get her to eat her own food other than the whole family eating puree!!!

What sort of food are you giving her that you are eating? Do you feed her the same time as you eat?

We have started feeding her when we eat, she has a highchair that pulls up to the table.  Previously she was eating in her bouncy chair and we had more success, so it could just be that now she's seeing us eat she wants to be a big girl and eat what Mom and Dad do.  I have been reading a lot of other posts since writing my first post and now feel that perhaps Zoe isn't ready for solids yet so I have decided to put it off fro a while and try again in a month.  She is about to start nursery because I have to go back to work, so perhaps now isn't a good time to be trying to get her to accept too many changes at once, and she'll be weaned with other babies at the nursery ultimately.

Thanks for everyone's help on this, and for all the other threads I have read on solid food that have helped with my understanding.   :)
