Not sure at what times to feed nearly 7 month old
« on: May 30, 2006, 08:34:08 am »
I weaned dd at 6 months and currently feed her purees twice a day.  this is our pattern, but i want to up to 3 times a day but not sure how to without making her too full (as i have to consider nap time)

Currently

Wake up 8am  Breast milk

Nap 9.30-10.15
Puree 11am
Breast milk 12noon

Nap 2-3pm

Breastfeed 4pm

Puree 5pm

Breastfeed 6.30pm
Sleep 7pm

(night feed anytime!)

When my dd's were that age I added the breakfast feed (baby cereal) after the first bf of the day.  So you could do it at 8.45/9am.  Then I would swop the 11am puree for a solid feed at 12.30/1pm.  That will mean that your dd still fills up on milk first (most important at that age).

So you would have:
8am bf
9am solids
nap

12 noon bf
1pm solids
nap

4pm bf
5pm solids
6.30bf
7pm bed

I'm sure you'll have other suggestions!

lovejoy, not to mix things up to much but I will give you an idea of our routine from the about about 6-7 months which worked well for us.
7:30 wake and bottle
9:00 solids, rest of formula in cereal with fruits/veggies
10-11:40 nap
12 bottle
1 solids
2:30-3:30(4:00) nap
4:00 bottle
5:30 solids
6:50 bottle
7:00 bed

Maybe if you push the morning nap out to start at 10am then you could bf at 8am and solids at 9am. You might get a longer morining nap too if you push the a time out to 10 instead of 9:30. Deenz routine looks perfect if you can work towards that it would probably be ideal. Good luck! Sarah :)

Our schedule is exactly like Sarah's and it worked great!!! Just adding that breakfast feed in about an hour and a half from when baby wakes up would be perfect!
