Salt Question
« on: May 30, 2006, 18:37:27 pm »
I've always been under the impression that I shouldn't give LO (17mths) salt but have just been looking through Annabel Karmel's Feeding Your Baby & Toddler book and in the 12-18mth section she's putting salt in the water to boil potatoes and using stock cubes in her sauces.  Does this mean it's alright?

We never salt anything in our house as there is salt added to everything.

If your son is fine eating his food without salt then i don't see any need to introduce him to it now.

Ditto.

If you are a no salt house-hold then stick to it. If you can, find low-salt stock cubes, even better make your own stock. Think of it as better for the adults in the house too! Add herbs for flavour if you find it too bland without salt.
