Poop and solids
« on: May 31, 2006, 19:34:53 pm »
Sorry in advance if this is tmgross info...

My dd had carrots for the first time yesterday and then again today. Today her poop looked exactly like the carrots- colour and texture were the same. It was a carrot poop explosion and kind of smelly. Is this normal? She is bfd so used to have light bms 4-6x in a day with no smell really, since starting solids she goes heavy and smelly 1-2x a day. She has had poop problems as she has a milk protein alergy so I wanted to see if this is alergy related or normal.

Well I remmber with Ewan that his poop would be the same color as his food.  So if he had carrots he had orange poop.  I did notice that when we started solids his poop had more smell but I thought it was a normal thing. ;D

It's so true. My DS used to be so regular and have no problems, once we started solids it got very fragrant and colourful ;) and a lot less regular.

Good to know it's normal, we shall continue the adventure of solids. I guess I just now have to build up my tolerance ;D.

me neither?

rosie is breastfed, and used to only poop once a week, until last week when we started on solids and within 24 hours she's been doing little nuggets of what i'd say is like normal adult poops at least twice a day. no straining or struggling, she seems perfectly happy. just little proper mini-poops!
