Extended breast feeding - what my day looks like now!
« on: June 01, 2006, 00:13:51 am »
Andy is 13 months old now.  Until recently (last 5-6 weeks) he has had 4 breast feeds...two boobies each time.  Now he usually has 2 boobies in the morning...give or take morning and/or afternoon tea  boobie and 70% chance of an evening feed.  At first I was worried when he didn't feed and expressed. But now I have relaxed and realised that he is not self weaning but reducing the amount he wants.  I offer it (a few times just to make sure!!) and if he doesn't want it I just get him a sippy cup of milk a bit later.  He is not sick and overall his fluid and solid intake is fine.

I notice that as he is a lot more active now...that he doesn't want to sit and drink...there are too many things to do.  I hope that he continues to feed until he is at least 18 months...we will just see how it goes.
