Im hoping someone out there might have some advice or anything at this poing.  My daughter is about 6 months old and just recently she stopped eating her formula during the day at daycare.   She had been taking formula just fine up until las Thursday at daycare.   Today she has only eaten 4 oz since I dropped her off at 8 am and it is now 2:00pm and I had to go up and feed her the bottle to get her to eat.   Then when we get home she totally pigs out.   Yesterday after we got home from daycare, (she had only had 4 oz again during the day) she then proceeded to eat 1/2 a pack of stage 1 green beans and then at the same time at 5oz of formula and then ate 4oz more formula just 2 hours later before bed.  Then at 1am she at another 4 oz and then at 6am at another 5oz.  But now back at daycare she wont eat again.    Any suggestions or is anyone else having the same problem?????    Thanks    Lisa

Welcome to the boards! I just have a few questions. How long has your LO been going to daycare? Have there been any changes at daycare? A new provider, different kids etc?

She has been going since she was 3 months old,   The same people are there and nothing has really changed.   I just had a thought that maybe she might need a different nipple on her bottle.  She is on the medium flow for 4+ months but she does seem to like hit the bottle with her hand as if she is frustrated.   Just a possible thought.

Nipple size was something I was going to suggest.  :) Some babies do not get frustrated, just bored and bob off the bottle. I would say not to worry too much, but since she is getting up in the night to feed - you will want to get more ounces into her during the day. Some babies just go through a phase where they do not want to eat much. It could also be teeth? I would try a different nipple size and see how that goes first. Good luck! Let us know how things go.

Well I tried a new nipple size yesterday and it seemed to do the job!! YEAH   She finally ate a 5oz bottle at daycare!   I just hope today she does just as well.    To answer the previous post,  She doesnt seem to be getting any teeth yet,  so lets just hope the new nipple keeps on working and   Yes I would love to get more into her during the day,   I just started to ween her during the night by reducing her by 1/2 and ounce every night so hopefully we will get her to sleep through the night and take more ounces during the day.    Thanks for your help!    Lisa

I thought I would put up another post and let you guys know what I finally figured out!  So Leia,  even with the new nipples still didnt want to eat this weekend.   It has been such a fight and she screams and crys and pushes the bottle away when you bring it toward her mouth!   I got so frustrated on Sunday and pretty much was crying and she was crying and I was just done and just handed her the bottle while I was still holding her.   Well low and behold she took the bottle  herself and starting eating!   I thought If this has been the problem the last 2 weeks I will be amazed...   So just to test out the theory,   for her next feeding after her nap,   I just handed her the bottle and guess what???  She ate happily with absolutly no problems and no crying!    So now I just hold her and give her the bottle and she does it all on her own,   appartenlty she is a very independent baby and wants to do it on her own.    I just cant believe it was something so simple.   And today at daycare she ate everything for them!!!  I told them what to do and she is just a little happy camper now!!!  So anyone else out there going through the same thing at this age  I hope this will help you before you get to the point I was at!       Lisa

Glad to hear you found a solution! My spirited LO is also very independent. She never ate baby food well because she always wanted to feed herself with the spoon. To this day she still won't let me feed her, she wants to do it herself!  :D

I think that is great,  both of our little girls are name Leah!   My little girl's is spelled Leia though.     Ya mine wants to feed herself the baby food also and use the spoon, but she doesnt know how yet,   so I think I'm in for it also -   she will probably be the same way and want only to feed herself.    I just kinda cant wait to get to the finger foods because I think she will be even more happy about that!    Thanks   Lisa
