Do I just ride this out?
« on: June 04, 2006, 07:20:07 am »
Hello ladies,

For the past few night my lo has had a bit of the flu but its getting better, just really a snoty nose at the moment got meds for it. So I have been feeding her more regularly (EBF) So EASY out the window for now. But she has started to wake an hour or two after bedtime for a feed ( takes the normal amount) Sometimes I can just roll her onto her other side someties not. And then again waking  maybe once but mostly twice at any other time after that - again to feed - so it varies from either  23:00 to 3:00AM. which I have been feeding her as it is irractic/sporadic waking.
Is this normal?
Then she wakes a 5 like clockwork to feed (I am fne with this then back to bed and wake at 7 (which is her normal wake wake time)

Just wondering I am doing the right thing by feeding her - or am I setting myself up for more night wakings?
Do I just ride this out until she is 100% healthy again?

Advice suggestions welcome.

(this has been going on for almost a week - and we are getting very close to her 6 month growth spurt.)

TIA
Robyn

I agree with feeding until she is better, colds and snotty noses can make them really thirsty.  If when she's better, she's still waking, I would maybe do an extra feed in the evening and a dreamfeed if you don't already do one to try and get her through.

Thanks for your replies, well today I basically spent every hour feeding her. I couldnt believe it  :o She had a huge appetite. Was quite grumpy today, I think from lack of sleep she woke 4 times last night - and I fed her each time,  but at least her nose wasnt so stuffy today. I fed her basically on demand and in hopes that this would up her calories so she could maybe go throught the night tonight and get a good rest, as her naps were slightly shorter today. Hold thumbs for us.

It does sound as if she's getting her 6 month growth spurt!
