5.5 month old - would you cook mango before puree ?
« on: June 07, 2006, 17:16:02 pm »
I have the gina ford weaning book and annabel karmel and both dont say you need to cook mango before puree'ing it.   I have one ready for him to try and it is really ripe so could probably just be blended.

Also, do you think you could use frozen mango and let it thaw the night before and puree the next day ?

Thanks, Louise

Super Baby Food recommends waitng until 6 months (no cooking).  Annabel Karmel (the book I have) says only pears and apples (cooked) or bananas before 6 months.

On the other question, I give dd mango all the time (she's almost 9 months) from a frozen puree that I thaw the night before (as I do with all her foods).

Hi,
thanks for responding.  I have seen frozen organic mango and thought it would be perfect to have, if he likes mango, as i wont need to cut etc..

Anyway, i've cooked and pureed the mango i have and frozen it for now.

Thanks, Louise
