9 weeks old - time to drop cluster feeds and if so, how?
« on: June 07, 2006, 14:44:25 pm »
Hi
Alex is 9 weeks old tomorrow and has been on EASY since 5 weeks. He's fairly good on his routine taking into account his excessive wind and his reflux! He currently clusters at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm with a DF at 10.30. He then goes through to 4am when I feed him. He pretty much goes straight back down then til just before 7am.

In her book, BW says not to cluster feed after 8 weeks but I'm uncertain that Alex will get enough calories go continue going through until 4am if I drop one of the clusters.

What has everyone else done and how do I go about dropping the cluster feeds and when should the feeds be if I'm not tanking up?

Thanks

Ruth

Hi Ruth, that sounds great that your LO is only waking at 4am for a feed - well done!

I CF DS way past 9week, becasue it worked for us, however if you decide to stop the CF'ing your feeds would be;
So, one in  every 3hr period you are looking for a nap from her, you 3hr cycle may look like this;
    E 7am
    E 10am
    E 1300
    E 1600
    E 1900 & bath or vice versa
    S 1930

    DF between 10 -11 https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=54662.0

HTh's ;D
