This will be my 5th night BWing and each night, my 5 mth old DS has mantra-ed for some time. LAst night he started around 2am - I left him and within 15 mins he was quiet and I assume asleep. Then at around 4am he started again - I left him, but an hour later he wass still doing it. I went in at the point to try and settle him, but ended up feeding him. At no point was he really crying, but I felt that he needed my help to get him over the getting back to sleep hump. Should I have left him?

When you fed him at 5am, did he take much feed?

Thanks for your speedy reply. I'm breast feeding and it was about a 7 minute feed which is average for him - he doesn't usually feed for very long. FYI - up until last weekend I would have been feeding him 2 or 3 times in the night - but went cold turkey on monday after several nights of what felt like constant sucking. Am I expecting too much for him to suddenly stop feeding at night? Should I feed him at about the 4am mark and gradually push it later?
