What age to drop a feed and where to drop it from???
« on: June 09, 2006, 09:04:12 am »
Just wondering what age to we normally start to drop a bottle feed?
What is the best time to drop it from?

This is our routine,my DS will be 6months on Tuesday.

7am 210ml
8am cereal
11am 210ml
12.00 lunch
3pm 210ml
5.30pm 210ml
7.30pm 210ml Bed

I have just noticed lately he has been playing around more with his feeds and not drinking the whole amount so wasn't sure if was time to cut a bottle out.
7.30pm is his last bottle until 7am the next morning and he doesn't wake thru the night at all,so really want to try and keep it the same way.

hi, well i dropped the 12pm bottle at around 6.5 MO, 'cause he wasn't taking much only an 0z or two so i moved lunch a bit earlier, and or day looks like this now:

7:30 bottle (6 or 7oz)
8:30 breakfast (8oz of cereal with fruit)
12:30 lunch (8oz of protein, veggies and fruit)
4:00 snack (bottle with 3 or 4 oz)
5:30 dinner (10oz of veggies, cereal and fruit)
7:00 bottle (he only takes 1 or 2oz ::))
and no night wakings

so i guess if your LO starts to take very little of some of his bottles, that when you have to adjust her routine again. HTH :D

Thanks for that!!

I think the weather might have a bit to do with it,as we have gone a bit hotter this week.
He goes for a check up/needle on wed so will see what the nurse has to say.

Thanks...
