Night wakings and sleeping on the breast
« on: June 10, 2006, 19:45:54 pm »
At 11 weeks, my LO still wakes 3-4 for a middle of the night feeding.  Most of the time, she will fall asleep on the breast and then I’ll put her down (I don’t even burp her, but sometimes she’ll let one out when I put her down).  Should I not continue to let her do this, and wake her up after a night feeding?

Thanks in advanced for any thoughts and suggestions

At 11 weeks, it's absolutely normal for a lo to need at least one night feed. At this point I wouldn't worry about her falling asleep. BUT, if it does be come a problem then don't wake her fully, but just make sure she's somewhat awake and aware that she is being put down so she's not scared and confused when she wakes.  :)
