Habitual waking- Wake to Sleep strategy?
« on: June 08, 2006, 19:58:56 pm »
Anyone have success with this?  After weeks of sleeping 9pm-7am my daughter has been waking up every morning at 3am.  At first I thought it was a growth spurt and would feed her.  After several days of this I thought maybe not a growth spurt, and tried the paci.  It worked, she went down and woke back up at 7am.  Now every night she still wakes up at 3 and I just give her the paci.  I was so excited to read about habitual waking today in the latest book- it has a name!  And its not just my baby.  I read about the wake-to-sleep strategy and while I found it a bit risky am willing to try it.  What are your experiences?  TIA

Worked like a charm.  I set my alarm for 1 hour before habitual wake and stirred just a tiny bit.  Did this for 3 nights.  Actually on the 3rd night, she was stirring herself.  No problems after that!

KLA, I'm surprised that you haven't had more responses here - wake to sleep has been a huge success for many people around here. Give it a go, sounds like just what you need.
