We are doing some re-structuring of the boards at the moment, part of which involves setting up an FAQ board in certain forums.  As a result, you will see this a little bit as important informative threads get shuffled about.

Please bear with us, it shouldn't take much longer :)

Can I just add that if you are breastfeeding exclusively you don't need to give water (this is advice from the La Leche League and lactation consultant board). The foremilk contains all the hydration needed and infact giving extra water can cause difficulties as young babies will fill up on water and take less milk which subsequently means a decrease in your milk supply. As long as you are flexible about scheduling feeds and responding to cues water is not advisable 'officially' although some breastfeeding mums do choose to give it. Once solids are started and milk feeds decrease, water is needed. Babies who have formula may need extra water.

The FAQ board should be available to you soon. I'll slow down on moving stuff until it is.
