Hi,

My five month old baby has started to roll around, as soon as I put her on her back she rolls onto her tummy but gets frustrated (maybe because it's harder work/or can't move anywhere) and starts grunting/little whinges so does anyone have an ideas of independant play for a situation like this?
Thanks

we have the same here, even now when she gets into a crawling position and then collapses on her tummy.  I wish I had an answer but to be honest I have to go to her when she's frustrated on her tummy, but I don't pick her up, I lie in front of her and roll balls to her or make faces and that extends the tummy time

sorry it's not an answer, but you're not alone.  ::)

Just make sure she's got lots to do when she gets to her tummy (toys in view, things to look at) and when she does want to get back to her back, then help her get there, but also show her how to do it.  My daughter would always get stuck on one arm, so we tried to show her how to tuck her arm under and roll.  Basically, it's really something they have to learn for themselves and they're going to get frustrated for a little bit, but she'll figure it out soon enough -- and then you'll be wondering where this mobile LO came from!
