poop question

All of a sudden we have bright yellow (like almost neon) mucousy poo. It was green and that has improved, but it's gone from seedy to mucousy. She is 7wks old. Her pediatrician said he doesn't worry unless it's black, red, or white, so I am sure this would not concern him. Just wondering, though, for my own peace of mind.

My son (who is 3 month old now) has the same bright yellow, very runny or loose poops for as long as I can remember. Sometimes is has some mucus, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it has a seedy look to it and sometimes...no seedly. My son is a thriving baby boy at almost 15 pounds and if your little sweet baby girl is gainning weight steadly...she's totally fine.

I totally agree with PP.

as long as your LO is gaining weight properly, doesn't have fever and generally is feeling well, everything seems to be just fine.
my dd's poop changes color an consistency sometimes but I think it's due to what her mummy eats [lol before having a baby i never thought I'd be interested in subject like this ]

uh huh poop can be all sorts of shades of green yellow and orange with breastfed babies. it's also normal for some babies to poop after every feed, or some babies (like rosie) to only poop once a week. in fact the longest she ever managed was 13 days!!  she was perfectly happy, no straining, there just never seemed to be any poop (and I am the only person who changes her so i can be certain of that).  she was gaining weight, feeding well and plenty of wet nappies, i just was making only good stuff and no waste obviously!!

I agree with everyone above, but also wanted to add that sometimes poos can be mucousy if the baby has a cold - therefore swallowing their 'snot' (sorry!) and it coming out in their nappy... nothing to worry about though.
