Three month old baby w/ poopy question
« on: June 22, 2006, 03:53:43 am »
My curtaining only BF'ing my three month old son that sometimes has very loose, runny poops with mucus. When this happens, he will develop a mild rash. Now, I eat anything and everything and I really don't know where to start on figuring out if he's having some kind of food allergies.

It's probably nothing but, I'm a mom and I worry...of course.

Any advice would help...thanks in advance.   :)

I'd check out the BF board too as they may have some ideas if it could be overactive letdown or something like that, which I've heard can cause loose green stools.

If you are going to try to rule out food intolerances, you'd need to do the complete elimination diet for 2 weeks - see this link from Dr. Sears. http://www.askdrsears.com/html/4/T041200.asp

What do you use on the rash? I SWEAR by Pinxav - http://www.pinxav.com - some great ingredients in there - I use it every night on my DD as a protective and used to use it whenever a rash popped up. http://www.pinxav.com
