My dd always wants to be upside down!!!!! She will arch her back and fling herself backwards when she is being held on a lap or standing up. Sometimes it can be quite alarming if you are not prepared for it!
She only allows herself to be put up the right way reluctantly. I wondered if any one elses lo has shown signs of this odd behaviour? She really enjoys but as i said she can take you by surprise!

It's nice to know I 'm not the only one...I was beginning to think my dd was a little weird.LOL She absolutely loves hanging upside down. My DH holds her by the feet and hangs her over the bed or couch and she just squeals and laughs away. She even tries to hang upside down when I'm feeding her. She thinks it's really funny, I however think it's rather strange!!
Let's just say it makes for an interesting feeding session.

I can imagine!
I'm lucky that will ony decides to do it when hes on my lap or DHs lap as we are the ones that turn it into a game and he squeals with laughter..
I guess he loves the movement of going upside down and seeing the world in a different way.. not my idea of fun but its obviously his lol.. He's far too heave to hold him by his legs so I just tip him down my legs so he's supported.

My ds still loves it! I think it's because of the different perspective of seeing things upside down. He even does it with books... we'll be reading one and he will turn it upside down to look at it, then will turn it back. This goes on and on.

Well! I'm glad my LO is not the only one who loves being upside down. My ds loved it but not as much as dd, she catches me unawares all the time, she arches her back and just flings herself!

Olivia loves it and does it every day for ages. the other day onstead of me just rolling her over i showed her how to do a forward roll (somersault) and 3 turns later she did it herself without any fear. alex on the other hand always hated going upside down at that age and resisited things at gym class that involved me hanging her upside down - now she is fine with it but i have still not taught her to so,mersault.
it is a REALLY important thing to do with your child (as we were taught at gym classes) it helps with their inner ears and moving the fluid around amongst other benefits with balance i think ... (i would have to get the info sheet out and look it up as i forget
