4 hour EASY - wake time 5:15
« on: June 22, 2006, 17:03:00 pm »
Can anyone post a 4 hour EASY sample routine for a baby that wakes at 5:15?  We are not looking to change the wake time right now.  She is 7 months old.

Thanks so much.

Hi, there!  What time is bedtime for you lo?  Has she started solids?  What is your current routine including nap times and lengths?

5:15 wake and liquid feed
6:30 breakfast
7:00 nap (have you tried to push this out a little?  just a thought since she is 7 months old that she might be able to handle more A time)
9:00 liquid feed or do breakfast here
10:00 liquid feed if you do breakfast at 9:00
12:00 nap
2:00 lunch or liquid feed (follow 1 hour later with the one you don't do here)
5:40-6:15 catnap  (you actually may want to cut this out soon-then shift your morning nap later and thus the afternoon nap later as well)
6:15 feed
7:00 bedtime

That's about the best I can come up with simply b/c I don't know when you give breakfast since she wakes early.  Another possibility if you do breakfast early would then be to give a liquid feed at 9, then lunch at 11, then nap at 12.  Have you started offering snacks or the sippy cup?  When do you plan to begin lunch?  I just put that in there for example when you do offer it.

I'm not sure if you meant to post a sample schedule, but I didn't see one ( Until I can extend the naps, do you think the schedule below is good?)

Doing breakfast early when she wakes is fine.

Snacks are not a big deal.  I just wanted to know if you needed help incorporating them into your schedule.  I think I started a little bit around 7 months, but moreso near 9 months.  It's good to let her ease into the sippy cup.  It can be a challenge, so the more practice she gets, the better.  But her main nutrition is still coming from your breastmilk right now.
