help with crawling
« on: June 25, 2006, 20:27:19 pm »
my dd has made real efforts to try and crawl recently. she can bring her knees right up under her but her arms aren't strong enough yet for her to bear her weight on them fully to enable her to go forward (or backwards!)

what i've also noticed is that her feet slide on the carpet and she can't get enough grip to even move herself forward on her tummy. this may sound like a stupid question but is there anything i can do to help her with this? she's getting so frustrated  :-[

I am not sure if there is anything that you can do.

Just to let you know my DS only started crawling at 9 months old.  He too got very frustrated, and then one day he just started to move and now we have a hard time keeping him still  ;D

Good luck and just try and encourage her.

like u said, ur lo's arms aren't steady enough to bear the weight...dd started commando crawling all out of the blue too weeks ago, she hadn't even tried before and she can get herself up on all fours and rock....believe us when we say, enjoy them being still while it lasts ;D ;D
