Where is everyone from?

Hope it's OK to get off the "breastfeeding subject" for a second, but I was just curious on where everyone was from? It seems like most of the mommas in here are from the UK. Is there anyone from the United States or Canada as well?

I'm from Southern California...I live about 20 minutes from Disneyland "The Happiest Place on Earth"  :D

Wow, I'm having real problems posting today, message either gets lost or sends before I'm done!

There's a thread in the Lounge called Where are you from? I'd attach it for you but I'm not sure how :-[. As you can see, we're from all over!

The USA is where most people come from - with the UK probably the second largest contingent. Then Canada, Australia and most other places you can think of!

Hello fellow California girl!
I'm from just north of you, in the Salinas Valley (about 2 hours south of SF on Hwy 101).
We frequent "the Happiest Place on Earth" a couple times a year.  And, Yes, when you're 5 I guess the name holds true.  I find it the most exhausting place on earth, but still fun.
We have 2 boys, the 5 year old and a NB who is just 4 weeks.  How 'bout you?
Are you doing the EASY and all that?  I'm having a hard time getting my NB going on it.  Can't seem to get him to nurse for more than 5-10 minutes w/o falling asleep.  Then he wakes up after a short time hungry again.  Also having difficulty getting him to sleep w/o help from me/props.  I'm starting to get really frustrated.   Any tips?

Hi there...Your from Salinas Valley? You're probably burning up out there with this crazy hot weather we're having. Anyhow, it's nice to be able to chat with another California momma! Quick stats on me: I'm 28 years old, a stay at home mom, married for 5 years, and have three boys all under the age of 4 ( 3 1/2, 2 1/2, and a 3 1/2 month old). I love the EASY system I'm no pro at it! That's why I'm apart of this message board...looking for quick answers too. Maybe we can learn together.

Oh my Goodness!  Did you say 3 boys under the age of 4?  Remind me never to gripe again!  You sure have your hands full.
I can see where the EASY would be a necessary tool with your family.  Any trouble getting ypur 3.5 month old to sleep for naps?  I'm  having a hard time with my 1 month old.  He does great at night, but I'm having a hard time getting him down for naps.
Oops!  There he goes crying again.  Gotta go.  More later.

Oh, you two are making me home sick! I just moved from the Pasadena area to Illinois! I am so missing California, my family, and having friends. :'( And by the way, I can't get my 3 month old to nap. Sometimes he'll take a 40 minute nap. I've been trying to extend them all week and I've had NO luck. It actually seems to be getting worse. I broke down today and went for a car ride and then a really long shopping trip with the stroller until I knew he had a good 1.5 hour nap. Score: one point for baby, zero for mom.

I can relate, we just moved back to California from Oregon (both originally from CA.)  You should see if there is a MOMS Club chapter near you.  It's a great way to connect with fellow Moms in your area.  It saved me when we moved to Oregon with a new baby.  I didn't know a soul, and it turns out some of my closest girlfriends are there.
Be kind to yourself, California misses you too.
