What do you see wrong with this??
« on: June 28, 2006, 12:28:24 pm »
So my LO is 2 months and 2 weeks. Last couple weeks he is so hard to put to sleep, does not matter is it nap or bedtime. Scream from top of is lungs. and wakes about one a night anywhere from 2 -5 and the sleeps through until 5.30-7. Lately more 6.30-7
I am trying to hold strict shedule with him as looks like he is toleranting this more than loose one. Anyway yesterday evening was just horrible  :'(
Needs some thoughts. Our day

A 6.45
E 7.10
A  windown started 7.50
S 8.05-9.45
E 9.55
A were running some errands so sleep got little agrivated
S 11.40-1.00 had to wake him to eat
E 1
A wd2-2.20me tryng to get him sleep
S 2.20-4.25 woke briefly about 2.30, sleep again 3.40
E 4.25 had to wake him for this
A
S catnap from 5.45-6.15 in car
Bath 6.25
E 6.50
WD 7.40
S 8.10
And then it started. Up 8.15
sleep again 8.30
8.45-9.00 up, slept until 9.15
and then screamed again. And the some AP as I just lied with him and we both falled asleep. Then it went as regular day. I put him about 12(I woke then  :-[ ) and he slept through 4.20, when he ate and by 4.30 was sleep again. Until this morning 7
And anytime he was up in the evning he screamed , as he does befoer naps, but then it is easier. Jut at the moments he gets it is sleeptime, seems as he is getting sleepy and decides to fight it. I do not know maybe I am wrong  :-[.

So please what you see wrong with our day. Any advise is appreciated.

Scream from top of is lungs

Have you ruled out any tummy pain?

Maybe he has wind.  I know my DD at this age had an awful lot of wind.  I used infant colic drops before every feed, to break down the little air bubbles.  I would wind her after all that had gone, I would bycle her legs and then shake them down, or pat her bum to let her know where the wind should come from.

I would limit your DS A time to about 45 mins.

Could he start to notice the wind exactly the moment we atrt windown? It is almost funny, if it would not be so sad

What does he look like when he cries, does he scrunch, his legs, or how does he scream?

I remmember my DS got terrible gas pains too, and he used to get stiff as a board, so i would do bicycle with his legs, and i used to give him also milicon drops at every feeding, you see it can be gas 'cause their little digestive system just starts processing the milk at around 30min to 45min from every feed, Are you breastfeeding him? have you changed anything from your food?? anything???

If it is intestinal gas, you may not have a lot of luck with Mylicon. I never did. Gripe Water did a better job hleping with that. I just recently ordered one called "Colic Calm" recommended by someone else on BW. They said it helped within minutes. It may be worth a try as it can't really hurt!

Yesterday evening was much better, he still screamed before bedtime, but in about 10 min he was asleep. Maybe A time before bedtime was too short? But ine the other hand his naps werenot so wonderful at all yesterday., only one maybe about 1.20 nap.
I have tried gripe water too, but do not see much difference between these two(mylicon and GW)
Oh well, let see what today brings
