cheese?
« on: June 29, 2006, 09:37:36 am »
My son loves cheese, he eats it every day but I want to cut out Dairy of a few weeks, what can I give him to replace his cheese?
Is there a soya cheese?

Thanks

Yes, there certainly are soy cheeses - check out this link to see some brands. http://soyfoods.com/directory.html

However, read the labels carefully - some soy cheeses still use casein (dairy) as a filler!

Why are you cutting out dairy from his diet?

Thank you I will give it a look

His eczema has got bad over the last few months, he has a viral infection at the moment which I do not think is helping but his skin is the worse it has even been.

He seems in quite a bit of pain from it this time so though it is worth a try, just want to be helping him really

Definitely worth a try - just be sure to also eliminate all sources of hidden dairy in order to give it a true trial - and you need to give at least 2 weeks to get all the milk proteins out of his system. Good luck!
