Bed rails / safety guards?
« on: June 30, 2006, 04:20:56 am »
within the next couple months, we will be moving our dd to a big girl bed. a family friend is giving up a beautiful trundle bed for her. its a bit high and i'm wondering if i should get a bed rail for it. she can already scale her crib no problem without hurting herself...
i want to be safe, but i don't want to buy yet another safety device we'll use 3 times and discard...
your thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated!!

Well we did go for a safety rail - not so much that ds would have hurt himself (I'm sure he could have though), but more that he would have freaked by falling out of bed. As it was I did try him with mattress on the floor the first night with a bedspread beside it and he fell off onto that (about 5 inches) and freaked. He still has the rail at just over 3. I ask him now and again if he wants to get rid of it, but he's happy with it for now.
