I'm a couple months behind you but would like to lurk!

Although he is a bit older, we just got DS the tubby tugboat (I am pretty sure that's the exact name of it) from Target as a bath toy. It comes with 3 cups, some fish, and other stuff to play with. He absolutely LOVES it!! Would highly recommend it for tub time.

My 10.5 mo loves anything that makes noise- so basically his older sister's entire kitchen set! He also loves doors, remote controls, VCR buttons, etc. He loves to play in my tupperware cabinet- just takes everything out and then places it back in- again and again and again.

At that age, Katie was very fond of her Leap Frog learning table (still loves it) and stacking cups (still loves those too) -- also anything else that stacked, fit inside each other, made noise -- ordinary stuff like tupperware, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, books, plastic plates, cups, spoons, etc.

at the pricier end i recommend the FP Incrediblock + extra blocks. we got this at 12 mo and i think she would have enjoyed it from 10 mo easily. we had 36 blocks from dd1 but the addition of the big toy was great. 4 1/2 months later both girls still play with it daily and i think it will be in use for a long time. lots of toys get outgrown quickly but this seems a good long term buy.

also musical toys - we have a big collection: maracas, drum, shakers of all description, bells, etc

DS  just LOVES to pull the big Duplo Legos off the lego table.  He isn't putting them back on yet but he goes to town yanking them off and trying to disassemble ones stuck togehter.
Ditto on Leap table, tupperware, tv remotes, anything that isn't an actual toy but can be manipulated or whacked against something else. Light switches and any pull cord, doors that open and close.
and cat toys and chasing the cat.

Yep, I'd say the Leap Frog Learning Table is/was a hit with my ds.
