Author Topic: Keep getting logged out  (Read 3005 times)

Keep getting logged out

I can log in as normal, but as soon as I try to move to another page, I get logged straight back out again.  I think I must have changed a setting on our computer somewhere along the line (probably one of those annoying security ones where I clicked 'deny access' ::) ).  Does anyone have any ideas?

I deleted files and folders or whatever it said to do in the first post, but with no luck.  What should I do next? ::)

which url are you using to enter the site?  Do you enter via bookmark or by typing in the url yourself?

If you have the site bookmarked as www.thebabywhisperer.com/smf   this could cause a problem similar to what you have, though I'm not convinced that's what it is.

well, all of a sudden, things seem to be working again.  ???  If they go wrong again I'll get back to you, but for now I'm happy  :) (I can't live without 'Show unread posts since last visit'!!)

Okay, so now it's happening again.  And I tried typing in both 'babywhisperer.com' and 'thebabywhisperer.com' and neither seems to allow me to move of the forum index without logging out.  Any more ideas? :-\

Try logging yourself out of the forum using the 'Logout' button.  Clear your cookies and cache again, close all instances of your browser, wait a few seconds and then open your browser again.  Use the Login box at the top and make sure the box next to your password is set at 'Forever'

Once you've tried that, please report back.

I have the same problem.  Some days it is ok but some days (today, not - so frustrated!).  I deleted the files and cookies and tried again but it is exactly the same.  I can log in but it puts me back to the Fourm Topics page and won't let me into any of the topics without logging me out again. grrrrrr  any more suggestions!?

I've made a minor adjustment, please clear cookies & cache again, close all instances of browser, re-open and try again.  Please let me know how you get on.

Instead of my previous suggestion of using the login boxes at the top, login using the login button and ensure that the Always stay logged in: box is checked.

Sorry to hear you're not getting any luck.  Have you run a spyware sweep recently?  There may be some adware/spyware affecting the way your browser handles cookies.
