as you probably know she was overtired so she fell asleep quickly.
i'd limit her am nap to an hour, no longer and her pm nap to 1hr 30.i think a consistent bedtime would help as well.Sasha was usually (and still is) between 7pm-7.15pm.
i'm not sure what time shes waking in the morning but say if shes waking at 7am i'd aim for a 7-7.30 bedtime.if she takes short naps etc then you can move the bedtime forward those days.

Hey girls, I'm not really in the club - but I do read along with you all from time to time. I wonder, would one of you wise women mind taking a look at my recent post in the toddler sleep forum: https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=84404.0 and let me know your thoughts? I'm getting desperate and could use the help of another mom who has experience with early wakes.
Thanks!!!
Kate

I don't know if I made the right decisions today. She woke at 4am as you all know. She napped 2ce...once starting at 7am and a 2nd nap from about 12:15/12:30pm until 2:00pm. I ended up keeping her up until 6:30 and brought her up to her crib. She has been falling asleep on her own but after about 1/2 hour she needed my help and I had to help her tonight....finally fell asleep at 7:30pm. I know 2pm until 6:30 is a long time for a 10 month old. Especially when the day before she skipped a morning nap and the day before that she skipped an afternoon nap. Every once in awhile she does stuff like this and it always lasts a good 3 days or so and usually gets worse before it gets better/back to normal. She was a little whiny off and on today and very clingy.

Sasha's Mummy: When you say 7pm-7.15pm.....when do you put her down in her crib? I mean she can't just fall asleep every night within 15 minutes or does she? I have to count the average times it take her to fall asleep which is usually at least 1/2 hour if not an hour. Although sometimes it's less than a 1/2 hour.

If you're aiming 7pm bedtime, then maybe put her in her cot around 20min.  before 7min.

Well today she made it until 6:15am...the problem...she was up from 2am until 3:30am : (. Not sure why. wan't really even crying. I even gave her tyelonol not that I want to use that as a bandaide. I did the regular 3 oz formula mixed with 2 oz water. She also took a whole hour to fall asleep last night and fell asleep at 7:30pm.

7:30pm-6:15am with being up for that long in the in middle of the night is way below average ya know? lately it seems like her average night time sleep is like 9-10 hours. DO I still try to limit both of her naps to only an HOUR each when she's sleeping like this? Please let me know your thoughts.

Here is my question:
How do you NOT let frustration be the overriding emotion you feel towards your child when your day starts so much earlier than you want and they won't sleep.
Abigail was up at 5:40 this morning. She is only taking a 1 hr nap and overall getting less than 12 hrs of sleep a day.
I have tried everything, I mean everything, and nothing seems to work. She seems to wake up when she wakes up and I cannot influence that.
I don't want to control her, I know that control is not a good parenting style but I am so frustrated with her sleeping habits right now.
I try to blame it on teething or reflux or being too hot or cold, or anything where it is not HER fault but realize this is just what she does and it is incredibly frustrating.
How do I let my love for her outweigh my frustration for her when I am awake SO early and I am so tired every morning?

Is there anybody else that can deal with the early wakings??.when sasha was younger and she had early wakes my MIL would come over at the weekends to help.
it was the only thing that kept my sanity!i used to look forward to her coming over.
yes its frustrating when you've tried everything and NOTHING works.
i hope things get better for you

Thanks Andrea for the encouragement.
I really don't have anyone to help. My dh gets up at 5:30 to get ready for work and then he sleeps in on the weekends
since he gets up so early during the week.
My mom lives near but she isn't a morning person and would come over and help but she would be grumpy and not very
helpful. I did mention it to my dh that maybe this weekend my mom could spend the night and get up with her so we
BOTH could sleep in. He said no, that he didn't think it was necessary.... :(

Why can't men see that whilst we don't leave the house early, we are up early too?  Why do they get to sleep in on the weekend, when our days start just as early as theirs - inside the house?  Maybe your DH should be getting up one of the weekend days so you can lie in, and you the other one?

My DH leaves for work much earlier than me, but my day starts as early as his almost every day.  Doing chores at home, or dealing with DD if she is up already.  I keep pointing this out to him, he forgets so easily ;)

Cindy - When we were dealing with early wakings (now DS sleeps all the way 'til 6am, most mornings!  ;) ), we took turns sleeping in on the weekend. For a while, my morning was Saturday, and his was Sunday. We still do that, sometimes. And one weekend, DP actually suggested I get a hotel/motel room for the night! I was so exhausted, and so used to waking at 6am, that I really didn't get more, or better, sleep... but it was a really nice gesture.

Since we're all up at 6am, M-F (DP leaves for work shortly after 7am), there's also usually a night when one or both of us goes to bed early (8:30-9pm), just for sanity's sake.

My LO was up bright and early today "5:30am". She was in bed by 6:30 last night and I believe she was sleeping by 7pm. She also woke up at 1:30am for a short while. Waking up at 6am would of been better "lol".
