Advice on change to the routine
« on: July 03, 2006, 09:21:08 am »
Hi,

My DD is 6 months old. With her routine changing (more awake time, solids etc), I need to be able to manipulate this somehow to make a mums squad exercise class 2 days a week for an hour at either 9am or 10am.

Currently the morning looks something like this

6/6.30 awake - bottle
7.30 - 9.30 sleep
(then i go to the 10am class)
BUT with her having more awake time I was looking to change to something like this

6/6.30 awake - bottle and rice cereal
8/8.30 - 10/10.30 sleep

It was easy to fit the classes in with less awake time but with her getting older and increasing awake time does anyone have any ideas of how i could attend one of these classes.
I was thinking
6/6.30 awake - bottle and rice cereal
8.30 - 9.45 (wake if not awake) to make 10am class?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

SB  :)

I think your change will work fine.  I know I've done some manipulating to DD's routine to make classes, appointments, etc and it's worked out fine.  I'm sure you'll be able to tell if it's disturbing her routine too much anyway.  Also, if you're shortchanging her first nap then she should be able to make it up later in the day anyway.  If she has her bottle in the beginning of class or on the way to class, she'll nearly be on a 4 hour routine -- seems like that would work out great.
