4am waking! any ideas or problems with my routine?
« on: July 06, 2006, 07:53:15 am »
I have the typical angel baby...until now that is!
Freya has ben sleeping from 7 - 7 for 2 months or so now (she is 5 months old but was 8 weeks prem) and has always been a fan of sleep!
now,she thinks its time to wake up at 5am!
so, i guess its a habit developing so im getting up at 4am to rouse her like the book says, and yet she still wakes up at 5am on the button and refuses to go back to sleep! this has been going on for 4 mornings now.
i am so tired and desperate that i will try anything to go back to normal waking hours!
i guessed that he first comment might be to limit sleep during the day so i have done so...and sometimes this is easy but sometimes she is so tired she wont stay awake even if im doing the can can with her in my arms!

Our routine is as follows:

5am Wake up.
between 5 and 7 - various methods to try and get her back to sleep, sometimes getting an additional half hour
7am - feed
9.30 sleep
11 - feed
130 - sleep
3 - feed
6 - nap for 15 min
7 feed and bath
715 bedtime
1030 we attempt to dream feed her but she just isnt interested.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
help as im so tired i swear im going to be divorcing my husband by the end of the week!

Hope someone can help me, as i said before, im desperate!

((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))

Do you read her sleep cues or go by the clock to put her down for naps?

How long does she nap at a time?

Are you feeding her at 5am?
