STILL waking at 9mo!
« on: July 09, 2006, 14:40:59 pm »
Booo, still having probs with night wakings! My question is this, some nights DS wakes once, other nights 12 times, what does this mean? Surely he can self soothe by now as he can sometimes go a very long stretch, so what is waking him? I have tried to S.L.O.W. but cannot work out what is waking him. any thoughts?

On the nights he is waking frequently, could it be something you fed him during the day?

Just a thought.

hmm dont know, he rarely seems in pain or discomfort, but then he is a refluxer and used to discomfort, tends not to moan too much! He usually takes his paci, sometimes a quick cuddle and hes back to sleep

Do you have extra paci's in his crib in case he loses one?  We found putting a few extra paci's in the crib helped.

i try, but here's the thing, he can put his paci in during the day but never even tries to look for one a night! think he thinks night pacis are mummy's job

Yaya, long time no see!

My DS also went through a phase where he didn't replace his own paci at night even though he was completely capable. What I started doing was putting it in his hand when he went to bed at night so he'd put it in himself. After about a week he got the idea and doesn't need any help with it at night anymore.  ;D  It's always interesting to see which one's in his mouth when he wakes.

What sort of meds is LO on? It is possible that it needs a dosage adjustment?

On a totally unrelated note, did you get those Playtex bottles?

Glad to hear you've seen at least a little improvement!

We're fine around here, but have been dealing with nightwakings again ourselves  ::) for a number of reasons that we have very little control over. It's been hot here, plus teething, plus he's almost walking... so you name it! But it's so exciting to see him become a little person!  ;D

LOL I know what you mean - Colin is still 120% spirited but I wouldn't trade it for anything!! He has such a great little personality and I never have had to wonder what he's trying to tell me!  ;)
