help! my 9 mo is sooooo clingy! whenever i put him down he cries! I know plenty of people who have had the same prob, anyone got any ideas how to help him be more independent!

we go through this from time to time here!  its hard when what you REALLY want to do is dump them on the floor and run to another room (doesn't help though!)
i try to carry Ethan so that he is facing out and sit down on the floor with him, sitting him in my lap to play with toys hoping that eventually he will reach for something and wiggle off without thinking about it and i slowly move away, moving back in again if he notices that i am pulling slowly away.  i think that its just one of those things where you only shake them off by staying close and gradually challenging their comfort level and returning quickly.

i think that its easy behaviour to revert back to when tired  :(, in fact when he is tired ethan even reverts back to collapsing instead of sitting and he has been sitting forever (another reason i stick him in my lap first!  ::)_
