4 hour EASY
« on: July 15, 2006, 20:16:47 pm »
Hi there,

I have posted on night wakenings already as I think my DD is habitual waking.  I  bought The new BW book Bw solves all your probs, I now think that maybe it is because she needs to be on 4 hour EASY. I was going to finish the book and start the transition on Monday. DD is one step ahead of me and put herself on 4 hour EASY. yesterday.

I guess I just want reassurance that this is the right thing to do and that DD is getting enough to eat. Also she doesn't dream feed as it really disrupts her night. She gets up just once at the moment and takes 2 - 3oz, but if I dream feed she gets up twice maybe 3 times.

Here is our routine from yesterday, today she has had all short naps today as we were out getting a family photo  done but she usually has at least one 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap a day, so I am posting yesterdays instead as naps are more typical.

Awake 7am
E - 7am
A-
S- 8.30am - 10.30am
E - 11am   8oz + 2 ice cube blocks of pear puree.
A-
S- 12pm - 12.45pm
A-
S- 2.15 - 3pm
E- 3pm  8oz
A-
S- 5 pm - 5.30 pm
A-
E - took a 9oz bottle between 6 and 6.45 had a bath wind down/ bedtime  routine and
S- 7pm
She woke up at 5.20 am which is later than her usual time. I think she would have slept through but DS had a nose bleed and so I got up to help and I think she got disturbed. she was crying and took 3oz. She was asleep again by 5.30 and slept until 6.30.

I have been desperate to ask for advice but the sit was down! LOL I hope this makes sense.

Is it ok to do 4 hour EASY without dreamfeeding?

TIA
Lee Ann,

I think you're doing great.  Your dd would certainly let you know if she needed more to eat.

I agree.  She would let you know.  I actually think I am having a similar problem with the dream feed and will probably follow your lead.  My son just doesn't seem to eat enough on the dream feed, but eats plenty if he wakes up.
