6 Month old lots of hiccups!!

I'm a little bit concern because I started my baby on solids one week ago (just  cereal in the morning) and I have notice he gets hiccups very often, does anyone have any idea if that has something to do with starting him on solids? does this has happen to any of your babies? He has been breastfeed from the beginning

Lol Aww!

Well... "sometimes the diaphragm becomes irritated. When this happens, it pulls down in a jerky way, which makes you suck air into your throat suddenly. When the air rushing in hits your voice box, you're left with a big hiccup!!  Some things that irritate the diaphragm are eating too quickly or too much, or feeling nervous or excited"

So perhaps he is really excited by his new found food and eating too fast or too much?  Maybe try helping him slow down a bit or offer less and see if that helps?

I was going to post the same question.  I didn't link it with starting solids but you're right  - my lo started having a ton of hiccups over the past week and we started pears a week ago.  They don't seem to bother her but it's weird.  She had them a bunch when she was younger but she hasn't had them for probably 2 months now. 

Maybe I'm feeding her too fast.  I know she definitely gets excited when she eats the pears but she gets hiccups all day and not just after eating.  I guess it's no big deal if it's happening to both our babies.  Let me know if you figure anything out.

it worked!!!  I followed Zoey advise : feeding a little bit slower and a little bit less , what I did too is avoid doing too much up and down right after the cereal and so far so good  ;D
