reflux baby cant eat meat or finger food

hiya
my ds is 6 mths, 2 weeks and was told by HV he prob had reflux (severe vomiting) but didnt mention it till last mth! and now hes on follow on milk and sitting up etc... hes a lot better. However last week i introduced pureed meat, white fish/chicken (obviously not together) he ate them and was immediately really sick. the same happens with finger food, today he happily munched on a cheese spread sandwich, got a bit stuck and projectile vomited EVERYWHERE. surely this isnt normal, or is it? dd took to meat no prob, as for finger food she occasionally choked but was never that sick. im wondering if its the lumpier texture or something? hes never sick on pureed fruit or veg or baby yoghurt. is it his age, am i expecting too much? what should i do? i am running out of recipe ideas. he must be tired of carrot and potato/ cauliflour cheese/sweet pot and carrot. he hates leeks etc... too. his weight is ok, on the 50th centile though he looks small as his height is on 91st centile. he has 4 bottles a day 2 are 8 oz, 2 are 6 oz.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the reflux or not, but he definitely doesn't sound like he's ready for texture. 6.5 mo is still really young to start textures and finger food. I'd stick with smooth purees for now. I wouldn't worry about running out of recipe ideas. Babies thrive on familiarity and routine, so there's nothing wrong with offering him the same foods until he's a little older and more ready to try other things.

thanx alot. yes he is still quite young so i will leave the lumpier textures a while. shouldnt compare him to dd as all babies are very different, especially my two. chalk and cheese in every way!! ella has always been outgoing and noisy, even as a baby, was a real chubber, talked alot but was a lazy bones, bad sleeper but utterly adorable. charlie is quiet, placid, tiny, sleeps like a log, almost crawling and sat up at 5 mths! yet like i say, not that quick with textures/finger food. Anyway, thanx again, guess it always suprises me how different two siblings can be!
