Quickie question about peaches

Just wondering if peaches have to be ripe and soft before I steam them, or if it's ok if they are a bit hard?

I have done both..if they are a bit hard, just steam them longer :) (and maybe add a bit of sugar-pretty sour?)

Lola - you're in Muskoka! Must be beautiful right now. I was just there last month!!!  Thanks for the advice. I'll taste them and see if they're sweet enough.

I'm in Orangeville. I was visiting a friend at her cottage a few weeks ago. Stopped at Weber's on our way there, of course!
