4 Hour EASY Question
« on: July 31, 2006, 13:47:12 pm »
Ok DS is going 4 hours inbetween feeds now which is fine, but he hasn't upped his amount of food intake.  He used to take 4 oz every 3 hours & now he is taking 4 oz every 4 hours (once in a blue moon he will take 6 oz.) Is this normal that he's eating less now on a 4 hour EASY?  HE will also sometimes go 5 hours too which makes it hard to follow easy with him.

Going to a 4hr EASY does mean a drop in a core day bottle.

Are you able to clusterfeed at night to make up for the lost bottle?

Are you on the correct teat for his suck (not neccessarily age recommendation)?  Have you had a look at this? https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=67403.0

We definitely had that problem when we switched to 4 hour EASY at 12 weeks. In our case it was like the mod suggested, and was a problem with teat/nipple size. Once we used a faster flow nipple, he ate more normal amounts. He was just getting bored with the bottles taking too long! At 6.5 months the same thing happened, and we went up another size.
