which meal to start on solid?
« on: August 02, 2006, 12:53:20 pm »
My DD is nearly 23 weeks and I will be starting her on solid soon.  I go back to work and my LO will go to nursery for 3 days.  Which feed do I introduce solids at?  It seems most suggest the morning one around 8am, but we would be on the way to nursery then.  She is currently feeding at 7am, 11am,3pm and 6/6.30pm with a df at 10.30pm.  I dont know at what time to introduce it.

Please help I am really nervous about introducing solids and want to make sure I do it right.
Any advice would be appreciated
thanks

Most suggest introducing it in the morning so that you have the day to see what the reaction may be on their tummies and it won't interfer with night sleep.  You could start off with a tsp of cereal in the morning as you give her a bottle.  Give her some bottle then some cereal and then the rest of the bottle.  My DS eats about an hour after his bottle but he wakes early enough for me to give him a bottle and breakfast before work.  Search the threads, I have seen a lot of mothers who fed their LOs milk and solids in the same sitting.  It is possible.  I am sure someone will tag on to your post and help you.  The other option would be to let the nursery feed her but you probably want to be a part of that.  Or you could feed her breakfast as soon as you get to the nursery if you have time??
HTH and good luck. ;)
