How do you know if he is full?
« on: August 02, 2006, 13:12:06 pm »
How do you know when they are full when feeding solids.  My DS sometimes cries if I stop feeding him but I am not sure it is because he is hungry or just likes the way solids feel (he rubs his tongue on his gums as he eats and he is teething) :P
So should I feed him until he refuses the spoon?  I usually just feed him 2-3 ounces and that is it and later when he is on his tummy he will spit up a little so I am not sure if I overfed him or if it is natural spit up from him playing and moving so much? ???  When he cries I am afraid to feed him more because he does pit up sometimes.  He doesn't cry everytime I finish feeding him.

Routine
6:30 am bottle 8 oz
7:30 breakfast (2-3 oz) cereal/fruit
9 nap
10:30 bottle 8 oz
11:30 lunch (2-3) veggies
1:00 nap
2:30 bottle 8 oz
4:45 dinner veggies/fruit
5-6 sometimes catnaps
6ish start bedtime routine bottle 8 oz

Most lo's will just turn away from the spoon or keep their mouths closed when they have had enough. He's probably spitting up while on his tummy because he just ate. Maybe move tummy time to a time before he eats?...
Sounds like he likes it.. :)
