leave or respond?
« on: August 06, 2006, 14:27:23 pm »
The last few days DS has been sort of waking and moaning/whinging for anything up to 2 hours. I think it might be related to teething. It DEFINITELY isn't a proper cry. I'm just not sure whether I should be going to him or to just leave him to it as he isn't actually crying. I sometimes think my being there actually disturbs him more. I feel cruel leaving him but not sure if I'm making a rod for my own back by going to him.

If i were you i would leave him be, if he is not crying then he doesn't need you, my son also seems worse sometimes when i go in to him if he is just fussing.
I know it is hard to just lie in bed listening to them moaning but if he really needs you he knows what to do, if you think he is teething have you tried giving some pain medication before he goes to bed?

Hi Cath,

Fancy meeting you on this board....  Jamie does the same thing and from experience it only makes it worse if u go in.. I only go in for a full out cry.  As a matter of fact i now turn off the monitor so i only hear the urgent cries...
