What brand Sippy Cup do you use?
« on: August 11, 2006, 00:33:44 am »
I bought DD the Tommee Tippee one the other day as it holds more milk in it than her current one which has started leaking. Found that DD didn't like drinking from it so i tried it and it was hard to drink from. I think i will go back to the original one she has been using since starting solids which is the Heinz one with handles. Just curious what other people use???

We too use the Nuby cups --I use the harder straw cup for water and the soft spout for milk.

Hi,

We've tried all sorts of brands, and the ones that seem to work best are the Playtex hard spout ones. The Nuby soft spout ones were good too in the beginning, but our dd would chew holes in the spouts, and they would leak then.

We have and love the Nuby hard spout's and used the soft spouts for a long time.  We also have a few playtex, and some random sippy's, like the Cleveland Indians ;D

Ds will only take his milk out of the Nuby's....for water, he couldn't care less.

All about playtex sippys.....for the first transition though, we used the avent soft tip ones with handles because the suckign action is similar to a bottle....and then transitioned to the playtex...plus, playtex doesn't leak and has lots of fun colors :)

DD uses and always has used the tomee tipee cups, free flow I guess you call them as there is no valve in them and the water just pours out but nothing leaks from the lid if that is what you mean? About 3.5 months ago I got her a regular plastic glass and she does really well with it, has only spilt a few times and hasn't tried to turn it upside down yet  :P

We started with Playtex and always stuck with them. Started with the Playtex stage 1 cup with handles. Then moved to the Playtex stage 3 cup with the hard spout. Then moved to the Playtex stage 4 straw sippy. I love how all the tops are interchangeable with all the bottoms. All the Playtex sippy cups with hard spout don't leak. I love them! The straw version does leak a bit when it is turned over.

A bunch of you mentioned Nuby, I've never heard of them, are they a UK brand?

Marisa's Mom,

I got my Nuby at Walmart. I think Babies R us also sells them.

NUBY straw cups are AWESOME!  I have tried 3 or 4 different types and I always go back and buy more of those. I buy mine at Babies-R-Us. I have looked at Walmart and I can't find them at mine.

For those of you who use the Nuby Soft Spout I have a question.

We just bought DS this cup and he loves drinking out of it.  I have found that the spout collapses when he is drinking out of it - is this normal.

Thanks for your help.

Don't know about the collapsing - DS only uses the Nuby Straw cup with water and when we are out and about (strange little guy sometimes).  DS's favorties are the take and toss sippy sups and the take and toss cups with straws.  Must put the straws in last on these cups, or you will be wearing it!  DS also uses Nuby cups at daycare, but won't use the (same) ones I have at home.  LOL.  I tried a ton of different kinds of sippy cups - I am sure that I spent way too much money on the trying, but he settled on the cheapest ones out there as his favorites!

Maxysmum,

Thanks for the reply.  It does not stop him from drinking, I just thought it looked a little awkward.

Also, do you find it difficlut to try and line up the two tips on the teat in the holder.  We line it up, and soon as we put the lid on and turn, it moves  ???  Sorry if a stupid question, but what am I doing wrong?

LMAO Then i don't think it really matters if the teat is lined up with the dots. With ours which is the one for younger babies  :-[ (must get the older one) if the dots don't line up to the grooves then they would be wonky and it would be hard to drink from.

I think that is what the problem is, but every time we try to line them up and then tighten the teat, they move again.

Think I am just going to try another sippy :-\

Thanks for your messages.

We just liked the look of the NUBY, and besides for the teat going in it is pretty good.

Will see if we can find one similar.

Thanks  :-*

We have several different sippies.  She actually does better with straw cups.   ::)  So I had to go buy those.  We have the take and toss ones, and one Gerber one.  Can't find those anywhere!!  Granpa gave us this one, but not sure where he found it.  Any ideas?
