What does your 2 year old routine look like?
« on: August 11, 2006, 12:01:40 pm »
Hi,

I wanted to know what your 2 year old did throughout the day? I was watching Supernanny the other day and she always suggested a routine which included various forms of play time. Does anyone do that?

If I was to write down a routine then eating, sleeping and playgroups are there but the playtime seems to be up in the air, so would appreciate if you could share your day with me.

Thanks!
Cheers,

Catharine

ok  our day vaies lots depending on playgroup  or dancing class or activitys etc  but if it was just a normal day at home it would look like this:

7am up and breakfast  get dressed

8 - 10 she's allowed to watch TV ie ABC sesame st  playschool etc  now she NEVER watches tv for 2 hours straight here she watches some plays with her baby sister reads etc but the TV gets switched off at 10.

10 - 12 i encourage her to play with her toys, draw, colour, play outside if it's a nice day  (today she spent a whole hour having a teaparty with her dools  so cute) or  i cook with her, or playdough, or some sort of craft etc

2 - 12.30  lunch

1 - 3  sleep

3 - .30  High 5 is on TV  shes addicted

3.30 - 5  play  ie  books  or i do some singing with her, or she plays with blocks  or her dolls

5.30  or  6   Dinner

6.30  bath

7pm  wind down time

7.30pm  bedtime

then it all starts again at 7 the next day

hope this helps  :)

8-10: Does she need you to be with her and if you are doing your thing in another room, does she come looking for you?

10-12: Seems a long time for play. Are you there for the entire 2 hours? How do you do it? My dd's attention span is like a gold fish, 10-15mins max per activity.

How do you get anything done or time to yourself?
Cheers,

Catharine
