Routine feels like a mess. 6 month old.
« on: August 13, 2006, 00:43:07 am »
My 6 month old baby's routine feels like it's a bit of a mess. He seems pretty keen on his solid foods but since I started him a few weeks back, he's not interested in his milk. He eats about 2-3 tlb at each meal. He was never a big drinker and getting him to have milk has always been a struggle, therefore I've never successfully got him on EASY. Formula milk is offered after every meal and mid morning & mid afternoon. Sometimes he wants it, other times he doesnt

The problems are, he still has 3 naps per day but they are becoming shorter and shorter. He still has a dreamfeed (which I would love to drop as I need to go to bed about 9.30pm!) but then stilll wakes again for a feed sometime between 3am and 5.30am. I am tired, I would love him to sleep through the night.  This is a typical day:

Early morning between 3am-6am: Formula 150ml
7.30 Baby cereal & fruit 2tlb
before nap: formula approx 100ml
11.45 Baby cereal & veg 2 tlb
formula approx 100ml
6pm Baby cereal & veg
7pm Formula before bed approx 150ml
11pm dream feed. 80ml if we're lucky.

Any tips appreciated

That early morning feed seems to be a big one and probably the reason why he isn't hungry for milk during the day. Have you tried resettling him if he wakes before 6am? Perhaps you might want to cut back a little on his solids at each meal.
