At a loss!!! What is going on with my baby???
« on: August 30, 2006, 01:03:24 am »
She's fighting her morning naps, taking 25 to 45 minute afternoon naps. Waking up anywhere between 4:00-5:00am.

She was sleeping and napping wonderfully just 2 weeks ago...

Is this a stage they go thru around this age or is it something else??

Any advice,expereince would be great.

Thanks!

I think we need some more info to go on first...

How old is your LO?
Is she on EASY?
What does her day look like?
How does she usually go down for her naps?

Thanks!

She's 11.5 months old. She has been on an EASY schedule since about 1 month old.

Wakes up anywhere between 4am-5am
Breastfeeds
Plays
Nap between 9:00 and 9:30 for about an 1-1.5 hours (this isn't happening anymore though)
Bottle around 11am
Lunch of solids at 12
Plays
Naps again around 2pm for about 1 hour (this is now around 30 minutes)
Breastfeeds at 5pm
Dinner at 5:30pm
Bath
Bedtime routine - book and small bottle
In bed by 6:30pm

Naps - we read some books, have some of a bottle, then I lay her in bed and usually she would just fall asleep.

When she gets up at 4 in the morning, I go in to check on her, sometimes feed her a little then straight back to bed. She will be quiet/sleep then cry on and off (never seems to actually get back to sleep) till about 5am when I go get her to wake up for good.

Hello,

A big red flag to me is always when people say that they used to be great nappers, but then short naps appeared out of the blue. That usually means that they are starting to be able to handle more awake time, and are just not 'tired enough' when they go for a nap. Have a look at this link https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=64158.0.

There's also a 45 minute support thread going https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=69789.0. Have a look, you'll find great tips and support there.

Also, are you doing anything to ease the early wake-ups? I know there's an early wake-up thread somewhere on the boards. Have you found it, or would you like me to look for it for you?
Caroline :)

Could you direct me to the early wake-up thread?

Thanks!
