« on: September 04, 2006, 15:20:55 pm »
Ok is my dd the only weird who hates to eat fruits?  :o
She is into veggies since a baby, but now if I give any fruit she spits it.
She does not like milk either so I can not make her a smoothie so tell me please how am I supposed to give her fruit????
Iīve tried fruit on toast, jelly and jello, and iced popsicles too.  ???
Any ideas will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!!!!

Honestly, if she doesn't care for fruit, I wouldn't worry too much about it. She can get just about all the same nutrients from veggies, and you're soooo lucky that she likes those! You'll probably find that her tastes change as she gets older, so if you offer it periodically she just might eat it one of these days.

In the meantime, you can try using fruit puree or mashed fruit in different ways. You can spread just about anything on a sandwich, either by itself or with something else like cream cheese or peanut butter (if you've introduced it). I've been known to mix veggie puree into pasta sauce, so I'd imagine you could do the same with fruit and the strong taste of the tomato will hide just about any taste. Like I said, I wouldn't stress about it too much since she's a good veggie eater!

My LO doesn't like fresh fruit, apart from bananas! So you're not alone  ;)

You can try giving her smoothies! banana, yoghurt and strawberries is a favourite fo my dd, she is not a huge fruit eater either but loves smoothies! orange and mango is another good one.

HTH :)

ooops sorry just reread your post about the smoothies, you can make them with milk instead or just the fruit blended togeather :)

mine didn't like fruit either until I discovered freeze dried fruit.  It's the kind that doesn't have any additives or sugar.  It took a few tries, but slowly she will take it.  She likes crackers and other things that are crunchy so I figured that this might appeal to her textures likings.  good luck

Thanks to all for your answers. Can you please give me a recipe of a smoothie. Maybe I am not doing them properly and that is why she doesnīt like them. So I usually do it with soy milk and some fruit and that is it, but I guess it tastes yucky. I would appreciate some really good recipes. Thanks a lot to everyone!!!  ;D

My bub hates fruit too. He will only eat bananas sometimes. I hide it in oatmeal and yogurt. Also, Gage will eat those fruit cups that have jello in them. For some reason he like these. Thank goodness he likes something ::)

Lauren, Callum has grown up fast! I havent been on here in awhile. He sure is a handsome little bub!  :)

Thanks to everyone for your advice. She is now liking dehidrated bananas. At least something. I tried a smoothie and I drank it myself as she spit it.  ::)  So I will wait until I discover something else she likes in fruit.
