Egg whites
« on: September 07, 2006, 21:12:03 pm »
At what age do people introduce egg whites?  Most literature here including info provided at GP's office says to hold off until 12 months.  A friend told me the reason is that the protein is not digested well by babies and that it 'leaks' into their system and they build up antibodies, thereby causing allergies.  Tried scrambled egg yolk for 8 month old dd but it was really dry.  Any ideas how to make the yolk more apetizing?

add a bit of formula or butter before scrambling.   :)

That's a great idea to add formula! Don't know why I didn't think of it! I'll try it today. Thanks.

I've done medium soft boiled egg - yolks are not hard boiled (too dry) ... yolk is not runny, is solid but soft - for me it's about 6 minutes after egg has been placed in boiling water.
