Vegetables and indigestion

Since starting solid foods with out little girl of 5.5 months, she seems to have reacted very badly to root vegetables like carrots, sweet potato and swede. Nothing allergic I think just what seems like unpleasant stomach pains/heartburn - she is very unsettled and cries out intermittantly every minute or two. We have given her green vegetables like green bean and courgette and she's been fine. Broccoli is fine as well, although she does seem to break wind a lot after that :)

Has anyone found the same issue with root vegetables? What might be the shared content that's causing the problems - perhaps the starchy content?

And should we now steer clear completely or try her again in a week or two?
