blue cheese?
« on: September 18, 2006, 17:16:54 pm »
At what age would you serve blue cheese?
I don't mean a lump of it on a cracker but in a pasta sauce or something.
I have some pear and blue cheese ravoli which I think Sam would like the look of but don't want to do anything too soon.
What do you think?

my sister was a gorgonzola freak at Sam's age and she's ok.

A pasta is boiled to death, so any nasty lurking things in the mould are going to be cooked, I'd do it (and this iscoming from someone trying to keep dd lactose, gluten, soy etc etc etc free the whole first year)

Riley is a cheese fiend and we are trying to expand her tastes so offered her a bit of white costello (like a creamy cross between blue cheese and brie) on a water cracker....10 seconds later we had the full gag reflex, the facial grimace and a body shudder hahahahahahahaha

We'll keep trying different types as I don't think any of them are harmful for kid but her favorite still seems to be the 'plastic' cheese varieties for kids...oh and philly cream cheese.
