9 month old blanket
« on: September 20, 2006, 20:52:08 pm »
Hello, not sure if this is the place, but my 9 month old really enjoys one blanket during her daytime naps, but its large and fuzzy so I don't put it in her crib at nighttime.  She sleeps really well with it though and now that its getting colder outside I think she'd really like to have it.  With it, she will move around and resettle herself at naptime -- without it, she's been night waking a lot and having a hard time resettling.  I know our schedule is off from teething (that is for another board) but now that I've babbled on and on, my question here is:  When is it safe to put bigger blankets in baby's crib at night?

hi
don't know if it's safe or not BUT my dd has been sleeping covered with a reasonable size blankie for a long time now [no hot nights since the end of July and colder days since the end of August here]. she sleeps in a grobag/sleep sack and I cover her with a blanket too. sometimes she pulls it over her face but only for naps, not night sleep.
I think that as long as she's doing fine with her blanket at nap time she will do great at night too. and if it helps her to resettle and sleep better, I wouldn't really hesitate.
